Wedding photography for me is more than an assignment — it’s an obsession with telling human stories. As Krzysztof (Krzysiek) Orłowski, founder of the Historie Ślubne brand in Białystok, I work so that images don’t look like a checklist of “must-haves,” but like a natural reportage that still moves you years later. My philosophy is authenticity: I don’t shoot indiscriminately; I press the shutter when something real happens — a laugh, a tear, a gesture that says more than words. I operate like an observant storyteller with sensitivity, stepping in where something worth capturing occurs. In more challenging outdoor conditions I’m accompanied by an assistant — my wife Agnieszka — who looks after small details (hair, veil, tidying the frame), which lets me concentrate fully on the narrative sides of the reportage. How does our collaboration work? We start with a conversation — I like to learn your expectations, places that mean something to you, and the little stories worth highlighting. On the wedding day I act with tact and initiative; afterwards I carefully select and retouch the images to preserve the emotional impact and aesthetic consistency. Although wedding reportage, bridal sessions and outdoor wedding shoots are at the core of my practice, I occasionally photograph sessions that include pets when couples want to include their beloved companion. This is an addition rather than a main focus, approached with the same care for authentic moments.
